Work Experiences

  With a multifaceted background spanning product development, global & US marketing, and R&D, Sarah is a seasoned expert on both the domestic and international consumer. Her career began at L’Oreal with Giorgio Armani Cosmetics Korea, where she helped launch the brand domestically, and found a true passion for creating and nurturing new market verticals. She was then transferred to L’Oreal’s NY office and the Matrix Global division, focusing on product development and global marketing, and working with over 50 countries around the world.

  Sarah then transitioned to Lancome USA, where she was responsible for makeup product development for US consumers, including cushion compacts and foundations, as well as retailer management, where she partnered with brands such as Sephora, Ulta and Macys. Prior to departing L’Oreal to found Glow Recipe, Sarah most recently served as AVP and category head of haircare for L’Oreal Paris. Sarah blends her deep understanding of product formulation science with years of successfully bringing brands to market to drive strategy and ution of Glow Recipe’s vision.

  Glow Recipe launched in November of 2014, and since then has been the fastest growing Korean beauty company in the US, leading the market expansion of Korean beauty globally.

  Together with her co-founder Christine Chang, Sarah led the establishment Glow Recipe as a new portal for South Korean brands to get noticed not only by the global customers, but also by leading cosmetic retailers such as Sephora, Ulta, SpaceNK, Anthropologie and Cult Beauty. With a business model that enables a cost-effective business strategy for Korean brands to gain access to a large number of customers, and partnering with major retailers as their K-beauty trend advisors and content creators, Glow Recipe is the authority in Korean beauty.

  Sarah and Christine were featured on ABC’s Shark Tank in December of 2015, and received three offers from inventors in the show with 9 million in viewership. To date, they spoke at the WWD Forum, CNI Luxury conference, KOTRA’s Retail Forum and are contributors of Teen Vogue USA.

  Leveraging her expertise, Sarah continues to focus on the best curation of quality products and latest trends from Korea, creating ‘buzz’ in social media circles and growing sales numbers.
