Kim Byoung-gwan is an entrepreneur-turned-politician. In 2000, Kim founded a startup called Solution Holdings Inc. and later served as CEO of NHN Games as well as CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Webzen.
On January 3, 2016, he joined the Minjoo Party of Korea as part of the party’s second attempt at recruiting new talent, and by winning a seat in the 20th general election in the Bundang-gu Gap Constituency in Seongnam City, he became the first politician from an opposition party to be elected in the constituency.
On August 27 of the same year, he was also elected as a youth representative of the Supreme Council of the Minjoo Party of Korea and has served in the position since. Moreover, he is currently a member of the Trade, Industry, Energy, SMEs, and Startups Committee for the 20th National Assembly.
Kim Byoung-gwan received a B.A. in business administration from Seoul National University (SNU), followed by an M.S. in management engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).
