Sungsoo Kim received his BA, MPA and PhD from respectively Seoul National University, National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (Japan), Imperial College London. He received 2 best poster awards for his research works on electronic device fabrications based on nanomaterials. He joined the Ministry of Science and Technology as an assistant director of the Korean government in 1997. Since then, he has contributed to making and implementing policies on bringing up Work forces, boosting up Tech-Ventures, developing Fundamental Technologies such as Nanotech, Biotech, etc.
He spent 1 year at Korea Nanotechnology Center as a chief director of strategic planning Department to set up a flagship big facility in 2005. He then served as a director of national education statistics department to introduce evidence based policy practices. In addition, he managed the regional innovation issues related to establishing Institute for Basic Science and several Science to Innovation business belts. Recently He worked at the Presidential office as a secretary to Science and Technology and now back to the ministry of Science and ICT. Sungsoo also experience Graduate school lecture courses at 2 Korean universities.
