Mr. Won-Joon Hyoung currently serves as the CEO & President of SAP Korea. He joined SAP Korea in 2008.
Hyoung is the author of “Tango ? Business Platform Strategy for Market 3.0” which revisits the history of business transformation from “Push” manufacturing to “Pull” and proposes “Tango” as the next paradigm where push and pull come together to serve a segment of one, enabled with business platforms and ecosystem.
Prior to joining SAP Korea, Mr. Hyoung had worked for i2 Technologies as President of Greater Asia-Pacific Region i2 Technologies, Inc., serving many Korean companies by implementing i2 SCM solutions and also successfully launched SCM, SRM solutions and services to global corporations in Greater Asia-Pacific region since 2000.
Hyoung also worked for Samsung Electronics for more than 10 years as an internal consultant and manager in charge of corporate-wide SCM process innovation initiatives, where he became well-known as a strong leader for his international business skills. In Samsung, he involved in various process innovation projects for number of Samsung Divisions. He not only introduced SAP ERP and i2 SCM to Samsung for the first time, but was the first one to put together a PI (Process Innovation) master plan and Implementation of ERP and SCM solutions for various business divisions at Samsung.
He also was a Management Consultant at McKinsey Chicago office and completed several due-diligent e-Business and IT strategic projects for various companies in North America. In addition, he worked as a Venture Capitalist at Samsung Venture Investment Corporation from 1998 to 2000 right before he joined i2 Technologies. He successfully pioneered, invented and managed new venture start-up companies in Korea as a Venture Capitalist and a Fund Manager.
Mr. Hyoung holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Korea University, Seoul in 1983 and a Master of Business Administration degree at the Carnegie Mellon University in 1997.
