Greeting
We are pleased to invite you to the
‘Global HR Forum 2017’.
Thank you very much for joining the Global HR Forum 2017. It is our great honor and pleasure to welcome all of you to the convention of HR-related information exchange and global talent development, which celebrates the 12th year of its gathering. The forum was first jointly established in 2006 by the Ministry of Education, the Korea Economic Daily, and the Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training. Held under the theme of “Future in Your Hands,” this year’s forum will take place from October 31st (Tue) to November 2nd (Thu), 2017 at Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas.

With the latest emergence of global economic stagnation, the Fourth Industrial Revolution is gaining momentum as a breakthrough to overcome the new normal of slow growth. Countries around the world are already competing to take the lead in this new era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Compared to the past transitions, these impending changes are being realized beyond our expectations in terms of their pace, scale and impact. Many forecast that reorganization of industrial structures, innovation in the social systems and changes in our lifestyle will improve the overall quality of life for individuals while the organizational productivity is also expected to increase as a positive outcome. On the other hand, there is a growing possibility that the existing jobs will disappear in the future, replaced by machines, which will deepen the social polarization and lead to a negative outcome.

In response to these forthcoming changes, theme of the year is “Future in Your Hands,” which aims to proactively foster future talents to preemptively prepare ourselves for changes generated by the advancement of artificial intelligence and robotics. Over 5,000 global leaders and experts, including the governing body of international organizations, CEOs of multinational corporations, scholars of the world's leading universities and head of public sectors, now join together to discuss, debate and share their perspectives on collective efforts towards preparing our future: importance of educating talents in schools; human resource management in corporations, and direction of human resource development in government policy planning and implementation.

Once again, we would like to extend a warm welcome to you to the Global HR Form 2017 and we look forward to your continued interest and support.
